Product Description

Here is a very unusual presentation case, made from salvaged oak, lovingly rescued from the locally historic Woodroffe House of Mechum Depot, Virginia. This historical old home suffered severe fire damage many years ago. The wood retains all of its original patina accentuated by strong evidence of charring and smoke permeation of the grains. It has been stained with natural stain, followed by multiple coats of lacquer.

This case features a hinged glass top which swings on brass hinges and secured by a brass snap-catch. The glass used in the top was salvaged from an old window pane.

The deep, rich, Biblical Green felt that lines the bottom was salvaged from damaged goods being discarded by a local crafts and sewing goods retailer.

The inside measurements of this great case are 12 1/8 inches long by 10 1/8 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches deep.

Thick felt pads have been placed on the underside for tabletop display.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind case and if you are looking for something authentic to the period, but really different, this is the case for you. Great for Civil War relics, Native American artifacts, or anything else you want to display with pride.
